Recent Actions & Accomplishments
Under the leadership of WCAAHC member Dr. Cosmos George, the Warren County NAACP continues to advance equity and change at a community and regional level through ongoing efforts, including:
- Promoting voter education, voter registration, and voting, including organizing meet-the-candidate forums and improving voting access
- Organizing an hour of prayer on the National Day of Prayer
- Providing scholarships to high school seniors
- Creating an annual Dub-C Rap Fest to engage youth
- Bringing the community together through efforts such as sponsoring family fun days and participating in the local Christmas Parade
- Correcting death certificates of lynching victims
- Producing a poster exhibit and dramatization of the 1921 trial, lynching, and failed extradition
- Successfully advocating for hiring equity in local businesses
- Advocating for broadband for all, including informing the community about the importance of broadband in the digital age
- Organizing special events, including the Black History Project, the Youth Steel Drum Project, Love One Another, and the Remembrance Project
- Reviewing the Police Use of Force policy
- Working closely with the school system on programs to promote school safety and learning
- Recognizing and honoring local citizens who by their actions promote the mission WC NAACP

Join us in advocating for justice and equality! We hold monthly meetings every third Saturday at Greenwood Baptist Church (1175 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Warrenton, NC 27589) at 1:00 p.m.
