2015 NAACP Journey for Justice
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous march from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery, Alabama in pursuit of equal voting rights, the NAACP led a march in 2015 from Selma, Alabama to Washington, DC. The 2015 march, called the Journey for Justice, was organized by the national NAACP to continue the spirit of the 1960s Civil Rights Movement and continue fighting for voting rights in the U.S. South. The 2015 NAACP march passed through several important locations, including Warren County, the birthplace of the environmental justice movement.
